Jashwantsinhji,

I knew you would comment on this! Want me to work on your revolver grip now? :)

hi mandy, the problem may be with the breech seal (rounded leather washer around the place where u load pellets) .it may be worn out & air leaks through it causing loss of velocity & poor accuracy .replace it or fix a suitable O ring. i think your spring & piston-seal may be ok as only 600 shots are done.

if problem persists even after good breech seal, then check the piston seal .the new ihp"s have synthetic seals & unlike leather seals they are not self healing & can worn out easily if any burrs in compression chamber. also check the possibility of a broken spring.

be careful while dismantling the gun, also read the related topics . 8)

I got a call from the IHP factory on Friday, 3 days after I re-sent one of my earlier e-mails to them. The person on the other end wanted me to confirm the order (2 mainsprings, 1 piston and 2 piston seals for my .22 IHP air pistol) as they would be sending the goods by VPP. In my mail, I specifically mentioned that they were for my personal use. They have promised to send me the stuff by Monday (today).

Cool bro - IHP seems to have got their Customer Service Act together! Jut couple of days back, I received my breech seal too (albeit after 2 months) - hats off to them. BTW, just curious - why 2 mainsprings ? Are their piston seals made of leather or synthetic ?

Hi Airgun novice,

Getting the original spring of IHP is a big headache. Other brands do not match the size. So the thought it was better to have one more as a spare. The new seals, I was told by somebody, are synthetic. I failed to check it with the factory guy.

Regards,
Ebenezer

Today, I got the invoice of the goods I had ordered from IHP by courier. Waiting for them to arrive by VPP. Goods had been sent on Feb 19th.

This afternoon I got the parcel from IHP factory by VPP. The piston seals were synthetic and both the springs were too lengthy for my pistol. A problem I was facing earlier. Now I don't know where to get it cut and reshaped.

Hi Ebenezer sad to hear that!
Why don't you try IZH 53 spring. Both gun looks to be equal in size.

Don't know if that is available locally Suffix. Will that fit in the IHP air pistol? Don't want to go in for expensive stuff for a crappy thing..

Frankly I am at loss too - may be IHP sent you RIFLE spring INSTEAD OF PISTOL ? How about checking with Automobile mechanics - decent workshop style but "non-official" (i.e. approved centers). May be they can help wrt reshaping - you are referring to the final coil that is bundled together with the penultimate one, I think ? These guys ought to have contacts with local unofficial spring makers. As far as cutting is concerned the welder with oxy-acetylene torch ought to do the job. Good Luck.

Airgun_novice,

What they have sent is a pistol spring only since it is neither long enough for a rifle nor short enough for a pistol. The only hope for me now is my automobile mechanic. Exactly, that was what I meant by reshaping.

Thanks,
Ebenezer
