From where to Apply for a arms License

Hi,

i am from Mumbai but having a ancestral property in Uttar Pradesh, i also have a shot gun from my late uncle which is kept in gun house in Uttar pradesh. i have applied for a arms license from Mumbai in 2005 but license application got rejected by the Licensing Authority. after that i move to dubai due to my work so some my friends suggested me to apply for Arms license from our native place where i have all the required document to prove my residence can i apply in uttar pradesh since for last 5 years i am not in Mumbai do i have mention that i was in Mumbai. someone told me that if i am on staying there for last 2 years no need to mention.
please help to clear my doubt.

The application form as you would know, will have to be filled and that requires the current as well as permanent address if you have one. There is also a column asking you if you have ever applied for an arms license before, and with what result. Each state,district and city seem to have different requirements as to place of residence proof over "x" number of years.
The idea is to fill out the application without concealing anything and being as honest as possible. If you lived in Mumbai before moving to Dubai then your past cell phone records, or other bills can be used if needed. Your passport can be verified to prove your stay abroad etc.

I agree with Anand. Whatever you do, please be honest in your approach. It's better to be denied a license than to run around from pillar to post after being granted one and then getting all sorts of inquiries on you.

This is my personal opinion in all walks of life, not just with licensing.

There are few documents which are required while applying for an arms license. 1. you need to provide your property detail. 2. Residence proof. 3. Voter card or electoral record ( it is must while applying for an arms license). So where ever in India you have all these relevant documents you can apply for arms license.
