That pesh kabz is so delicate-I wonder why the wily ol pathan needed such finesse to slide the thing between your ribs?
2 examples i saw were more of a T profile. I'd love to do a pesh kabz in Damascus...

Re: Some swords newly acquired by a collector
Folks,
I have always been fascinated with arms and armour of our country from the Mughal-Rajput-Mahratta era. Am now learning more about arms and warfare from the pre Islamic period in our country's history. This is one aspect that, unfortunately has not been documented extensively and I would like to do so.
Unlike firearms, which would be used to fight with over a given distance, edged weapons involve contact with the opponent. This is the interesting part, and I highly value people from our past who have been warriors and their arms and have given so much to our country.
Moreover, being a true blue Rajput I literally worship the sword

NIce collection Katana. I like to look at swords (dunno why) though I am ignorant about them. Thank you. I first thought the second piece was a "bichwa" but then I guess the 4-sided blade differentiates it ? Anyway here's a good link I found - posting for blade-lovers.

Saw pieces similar to Nagin sword at Prince of Wales Museum (Mumbai) and also at Salar Jung Museum (Hyderabd). Was told they were largely ceremonial and used for presentation of 'kitaabs'. So surprised to learn that they saw combat.
