I read about "Letal Ball" in most of the old Assamese hunting stories. I guess Lethal ball was like a shotgun slug in a round shaped form. I heard it was used by someone named Jugal Phukan while hunting man eating tigers. The other thing I heard about is "Cera Gooli" not sure but I guess it was buckshot or a birdshot as I heard it was used against duck and other birds.

Cartridges having multiple shots greater than 5 mm have been prohibited by MHA by issuing a notification. We cannot question the "wisdom" of babus because unfortunately Parliament has delegated its "wisdom" to them with help of Arms Act 1959.

After revolt of 1857 the British Government decreed that small arms given to natives would be of lesser quality than those used by Crown regiments. The same theory is still working in minds of babus. The moment babus in MHA come to know that a cartridge is "deadly" they try their best to prevent people from getting it. Therefore the price of .357 magnums and the like has been cleverly made beyond the reach of common people by placing import of firearms on restricted list of EXIM Policy. Hence people are practically left with "non deadly" .32s made by IOF only.

Even funnier is the fact that the arbitrary ban on shot sizes 5mm and above by the MHA was not based on "security" or concerns of "lethality".... it was simply based on a recommendation by the Wild Life department folks!!... There is an MHA notification to that effect...They probably needed to save the poor animals for rifle shooters only
