Gun smith
hello everyone
I'd like to know if there is any good gun smith in hyderabad. One of my friends had an air rifle. He felt to make necessary changes to the gun to make it reach around 1000-fps. I knew he was dreaming in day light But i don't want to discourage him. I too have to make few modifications to my IHP. Thats the reason for this post.
Thanks in advance.

Re: Gun smith
You dont need a gunsmith you need another airgun! Otherwise you could change the spring and piston seal to get a somewhat better performance but nowhere near the expected results. Indian airguns are limited in performance mainly due to quality of barrels.

Re: Gun smith
Ofcourse.. But i heard that pk jeetesh's ihp crossed 900fps with modifications. He himself wrote to me that it can be compared to gamo, diana and other imported air rifles. One of my friend who fired his air rifle also told me the same thing. They can be done ! But many wont prefer it because we have to spend almost the same amount we spent the rifle to or some times even more. So a good gun smith or a person who can help by saying what to do is the important.

This remind me of the following:
A person takes his car to the mechanic and says --My friend was saying that his car gives him 25 km to a lit. What should I do?
The mechanic tells him--You start saying the same!!
Wonder if the barrel and the seals will take the pressure..provided you can manage to get a good spring.
Best

Just read the post properly and then comment on it or give your suggestion. I knew the spring alone cannot make it. thats why i mentioned it would cost more than the cost of the gun ! I guess you never came across an indian gun which is tuned to give 900fps. They can be done but need to be changed almost everything.
BTW i have a little sense of humor and i can appreciate a joke. But your joke is not situational. Sorry for being rude.
Thanks

Hi Tony,
Long time
I guess you might have misunderstood PKJ.
I'v fired the rifle in question and boy is it good. Below is a quote from one of PKJ's postings.
He has mentioned the fps of the IHP.
But yes you are right in trying your best to make the IHP perform to its optimum. I second you in that.
Drop in some time with your IHP and lets do some plinking.
Canon LG65 .22 and IHP B35 .22 - comparison
by pkjeetesh » Mon Mar 29, 2010 4:06 pm
Dear Friends...
Big Daddy and Lucky Luke, the Hyderabad IFG members came home on Sunday afternoon.
Fine gentlemen, both.
It was a real pleasure meeting them and being with them. And they came with their guns. BD with his Canon and LL with his IHP.
In no time we were shooting these guns at my 15m setup in the garden and this is what I have to say….
CANON LG 65 .22 and IHP.22
1. Canon front sight – good, quality on par with IHP.
2. Rear sight – good, better than IHP. IHP rear sight is hopeless.
3. Peep sight – good. I have seen a peep sight on a few IHPs and the quality is pathetic.
4. Muzzle brake – Okay, the rifle can very well do without it. IHP does not have one.
5. Barrel – poor breech end crowning. Rifling is good. Lock up mechanism is good. Cocking lever is two piece, so
stock covers up more under the receiver and you cannot see/access the mainspring. Over all finish of barrel
and other accessories is on par with IHP.
6. Compression chamber/Receiver – good, quality on par with IHP. But, it is not lining up well with the stock.
7. Trigger – Not very good, direct and very hard. IHP is a lot better.
8. Stock – Okay, finish can be better. Somehow, I like the IHP stock, it is simple.
9. Balance – good.
10. Power – hmmm!....with Mastershot wadcutter 15.43gr – 412, 434 and 427fps. IHP – 503, 508, 527! Will check
on this later after BD’s gun breaks in. The IHP used for comparison was a tuned one and one that had 3000
odd pellets thru it already. The Canon had done only 75.
11. Accuracy – Good, on par with IHP. Rifle was bang on target at 15m within two shots of sighting in. Inspite of
the hard trigger!
My take – the Canon is an unsung hero, with a proper tune, this rifle will do a lot better. Yes, you can buy this rifle.
The Canon will now leave for Chennai, to Thirths….he will give you the internals comparison…..and of course, the post tune report….
Regards

Best for your venture to assemble an imported airgun...and your sence of humor is whimsical..should suit your requirement...tonysilas wrote:Mr.Veejosh, tonysilas wrote: I knew he was dreaming in day light But i don't want to discourage him. Re: Gun smith
Jeetesh isn't true..? I heard that your gun fires around 900 or 800 fps. I remember some time back when i sent you a pm about muzzle break etc and asked if your gun is equal to imported ones..I remember you told me that it can be compared to diana, gamo...
i have your number. i'll call you after 5pm today.
Thanks,
Tony

hello Tony, thank you....got the thing made myself with the help of a few friends/lets say colleagues....can be compared with makes like Gamo, Mendoza ETC.,...we require good quality barrels, true two stage triggers, better sights etc., if it has to perform on top...go ahead and buy a .177cal IHP....out of the box, these guns are good...

Re: Gun smith
One misconception many new bees have when an Indian rifle is compared to its foreign counter part is that they tend to immediately compare only the FPS. As Fantumfan has mentioned many a time, the performance of a gun is not only in fps. I believe PKJ has clearly mentioned the over all performance parameters of a good air rifle. And yes! PKJ's IHP is smooth. It's smoothness, two stage trigger and accuracy can be compared to a lot of imported springers as you mentioned.
When we meet, PKJ always insists that good plinking never depends on high fps (some thing I’ve learnt from him). Tony I guess you should follow his advice and make your gun super smooth. Jeetesh is perhaps one of the best air rifle smiths in town and what’s good about him is he is always available to help and he does it free .
Tony if you want some advice on your rifle, call Jeetesh or me directly. Such arguments makes the tread look foolish. Drop this 900fps for heavens sake.
Do call me should you need any advice on your friends gun.

Re: Gun smith
To jeetesh and Big Daddy
Looks like you've completely misunderstood what i've been saying. The reason for this post is to know a god gun smith or a Person who can guide in this matter.
The 900-fps in not my intention. It is want my friend wanted and i also said he is dreaming in day light. I know its hard and I'm aware we need to tune the to make it listen to us! 900 fps is not the subject here. I apologize for not making it clear in saying what i meant .
BigDaddy i'm really happy. You always give a warm hand in helping. I've both your numbers and thank you for asking me to call if i need some help.
Thanks
