I am Indian and wants to buy smith & sesson, revolver.
Unfortunately no dealer in India. I have buy from outside India.
Whats the procedure in India to import such handguns?
Please let me know.

import is banned in india since 1986,all imported arms here are ones before 1986 so look for one here in india. cost maybe 3 lakhs upward.

You can import a Firearms under two condition
1. Being a renowned shot , and obtain a import license for your own pesonal use in target shooting category.
2. As a NRI , while returning to india , under Transfer of Residence category one NPB fireamrs are allowed to import with maximum of 50 rounds ammunition
Apart from above two you cannot import any firearms from abroad.
