Wow that is a broad range, 1.5-8X!

I'll definitely look at that one again if I win the lottery, otherwise the next scope will probably be a leupold since I have enough of the cheaper ones around here.

The open box one is not that expensive.

hi friends - have nikon 4-16x50 - wonderful scope mounted on my 30-06- rem 700model - but the scope is too heavy - used leupold 3-9,bushnell 3-9x40 ,elite n trophies but compared to these nikon is excellent bet for price n clarity ,but the min.u shoulder u haqve to shoot u cant wait -lost my rifle balance coz of weight ,secondly depending on the distance u shoot u have to keep changing ur side focus SF - i didnt have this problem with 3-9 x40,friends plz suggest whether i have zeroed it wrong or suggest me the way where i dont have to touch SF repeatedly.keeping the sharpness intact. Now looking for VX -II n VX _III -what do u suggest...

if you want same clarity of NIkon, then it is only Zeiss in less then usd 1000 price range. check that one, not heavy, if you shot from hands, fast focus and same eye relief in different magnifications, so your head position always the same.

The its a BAD scope. If it doesnt suit your rifle or mode of carry/ use.
Weight and balance is crap and focus needs to be changed?
Why an AO 50mm scope?
a 1-5x20 or a vanilla plain 3-9x40 would be just right
A 50mm Ocular would be right for light gathering and use for low light situations. There's no such thing as all round scope, only ALL round, mark 1 eyeball.
VX3 and 7's are going thru a bit of a flux, some street rumours say they may be pulled off the market.
Pick up a 3-9 x40 or 42mm Objective scope. Opticsplanet are a PITA, dont ship to half the countries in the world, they tell you this AFTER you order and pay for the scope.
Try cameralandny.com
Nikon has an african model 1-5x20 type.Should do fine, unless you are planning to do extreme long range shooting. In which case get yourself another 4-14 or 6.5-24, Talley QD rings which you can use to change the scopes in the field, guaranteed to hold zero, and a bipod. For usual carry -the 1-5x and change scopes for long range work.
