name and number fading,legal solution
hello friends, how do you all deal on fadded name and number of gun.faintly visible due to rust bluing.whatever legal.

just try re writing on the same using a small electric router/ vessel marker or engraver, but do not try to impress or go very deep,as you may weaken the parts esp the barrell . After that try to fill that letters and numbers with pure automotive paint,( white or gold) using a sponge and wipe the high area clean.Do not use letter or number punches.

Dr.,there is a process known as electronic etching,you choose the faunt from a computer,run it on a piece as a sample and then run it on the gun, fading of sr.no's doesnt happen while rust blueing, it happens when sanding off is done to remove either rust marks or pitting from the gun

If numbers have become faint due to natural causes, you are not committing any "offense". I would suggest not to fiddle with numbers and leave them as they are, so long numbers are reasonably legible. If numbers have become totally illegible then you may try electronic etching.
