On one part congrats another it raises questions unless IOF has changed their design to Lamaish please elaborate the mods done? Hoepfully they were done by a legal bonafide gun smith

Navi,

"Ruby" was the first name that came to my mind too , but if you see carefully, the original contours of the firearm can be made out towards the muzzle end where (I guess) some screw-on contours have been added . Obviously the slide has been cut and hammer now is exposed but I still can't figure out how was that distinct beavertail (semblance) contoured ?

best,
Rp.

hi guys,i got it done from a legal bona fide gunsmith, as i told you i didnt like the snoot a la browning feature...and u r right there is a peice screwed with a tapering towards the upper end so that it gives it a diff look.those screws aint visible..regarding the external hammer..the slide had to be modified...sorry cudnt load the pics of the mag,,,i had a follwer inserted (got rid of those lips)so the jamming and feeding has been taken care of.anyways was prompted to show the pics after i saw some modifications done by few of my fellow friends...vikas is also in dehradun so he has seen the real thing and i think u should ask him abt the looks and quality of work done

hi saahil,
thank u for ur observation.i guess u are riight the front is llamish, reason being that i owned a llama before this hence an inclination towards the design.well i gave it a thorough consideration and since the slide is not curved but has clear angles frm the side i cud not have gone for a more rounded shape.perhaps this was the best i cud have done...do u think the front is that bad?...i guess nobody noticed the trigger guard, trigger.

Caesar

Hoping the IOF Deziners can see this..BTW do they get the latest magazines from west in a library should we pitch in and send them old magazines or subscription..Maybe thats the reason they are stuck in 1905 designs such things happen just check some libraries of institutes in India..

Cheers

Caeser,

Far more pleasing than the other external hammer modification posted here. That said why do this at all?

You lose about half an inch of slide rails. Not good in an already inaccurate pistol.

The internals are going to be more susceptible to dust as a result of the 'modification'.

A metal bit has been added to the slide at the front to square it up,but for what purpose? It will only make the pistol front heavy and increase the tendency of the shooter to shoot low that is already there as a result of the grip angle.

What does the metal bit added to the frame do?

Also the metal bit added to the grip safety to make it look more 1911'sh is going to make holding and shooting the pistol a very unpleasant affair.

hi guys,
i guess its a very valid point that u have raised, why do it at all?i guess there must be diff prespectives to it as well.mine would be diff than yours.sa far as the slide is concerened the metal peice added was not that heavy ,it must have added to the weight but i didntfeel much of a diff while shooting (shot quite a few rounds after the modification). As far as we talk abt the dust factor i guess it is the same with all the pistols with external hammers.the metal peice added to the grip saftey i guess made it more effective in handling i believe cuz in the original saftey sumtimes when firing u had to make an extra effort so that the saftey can be deactivated....All said and done i have not found any problems regarding the firing ,handling of this weapon after all the work done.albiet the handling has been more easy and shooting became pleasure...

thanks
