Buying ammunition from state other than home state

Gurus,
Can a guy living in Maharashtra buy ammunition from Delhi or some other state. I mean not by physically going there. By calling the dealer on phone, paying him by credit card or direct deposit and asking the dealer to send the ammo by some courier. Is that possible in India?

afaik, one can ask ones dealer to receive it on your behalf, thus it would become a dealer to dealer thing. then you get it from your dealer. is possible, however this can not be done with all the states ie delhi to NE states.

Hi Nag,having 1st hand info on this,1st the dealer who is gonna receive on your behalf has to send a NOC,to the dealer who is gonna dispatch,then a TL is issued by his licensing authority,then he is gonna do the dealer to dealer thing,
r_r, if your License is All India you can send someone with an Authority Letter to collect the ammo,no Dealer is gonna give you ammo if your Arms License is not valid in his state,as far as calling a dealer,paying by Credit cards and receiveing by courier,its still wishful thinking in India.

hi Anit357 agree with the NOC things.

but may have problems with the letter of authority part.

As someone i know wanted to the same but the dealers in Delhi won't accept it. but then again if you are not from the NE (as we are persucated and rejected denyed our rights under the arms act ] it might work, best to ask the dealers themselves.

(have not checked in under the Arms Act one can send someone with a letter to buy ammo]

Dear Amit,
My licence is all India. Actually I have annual quota of 50 Cartridges on my licence, 25 on my fathers licence which is also all India and have annual quota of 100 cartridges on my brother's licence (Area Validity: Maharsahtra). Since all the firearms are 32 Cal revolvers so planned to buy 175 cartridges in one go.
Magtech Lead Round Nose (LRN) is available in Mumbai for Rs. 310, Some LRN ammo from Finland I dont know the name but its available for Rs. 350. Actually I was searching for some Jacketed Hollow Point (JHP) but have not been successful in my search so far.
Suggestions are welcomed.

Nag hi,this country just has very funny biases,its either North-South,East -West,we all are proud to be our states citizens,but no ones proud to be an Indian ,there is a lil problem with N.E Licenses,i was sitting at an A/A Dealership the other day in Delhi,guy was paying a very handsome price for a Brno Mod 2E,everthing was fine,but dealer refused to sell when he saw that the A.L was from Nagaland,the funny thing was that the License holder was from UP, so you can imagine----------------,as far as authority letters go they are valid here,have picked up a cpl of guns on authority letters,IOF also used allow people to authorize other to pick up the IOF Pis/Rev till it was misused and now they dont.
r_r,hope you arnt planning to go after Bin Laden with this kind of ammo ,a lil word of caution 32 Cal CARTRIDGES CANNOT BE LEGALLY IMPORTED FOR SALE,License holders can get them for personal use only,stay with IOF for 32 S W Long or 32 ACPs,you are paying a lot of money for ammo,wont be worth getting into any problems because of it.
