Hi guys,
I am a new member here,
I am interested in acquiring an airgun from abroad.
Two questions, any help about regulations in singapore regarding buying airguns by foreigners there?
Secondly, I am a pilot and would like to know if i can buy one while i am there on duty?
Rest all questions have been very ably answered by the members in this and other threads.
thanks

mehta sahab, target shooting is there in singapore and yes to the best of my knowledge only while coming back from another country you can bring both .177 and .22 airgun as well as ammo duty free via customs.so your situation works out.

Hi,

I was planning to pick up a second hand rifle from an ifg member in UAE, and have it brought to India ( kolkata) by an aunt. Since it's pre-owned, there most probably won't be a receipt. So what happens in a case like this at customs?

Its similar to carrying your own air rifle from one country to another.

Please help. The more posts i read, the more dire my situation seems. :(

Even its a 2nd Hand one, get an invoice from the seller (even a handwritten one will do )to determine the actual sell price. Also make sure you have a manual of that rifle which mentioned as its an Air Rifle of .177 caliber.

I bought both my rifle in pre owned condition and one from a private seller Jim Edmondson, In both cases I got a recipet of sell.

in case of non availibility of receipt the customs people may like to check for the ongoing rate over internet, it again solely on their discreation about the price the decide for the rifle.
Thanks and Regards,
Saptarshi

Re: boris

the NRI rule is only for firearms ,for airguns as a tourist while coming back from a trip/duty you can very much get them in any caliber .177 or .22.

It would be best if you confirm from someone familiar with the laws of Singapore. Sometimes the laws of foreign countries can be really harsh and troublesome.
