Can Glock 23 pistol be imported to India under TR?

Post by GlockFanWorld » Fri Dec 10, 2010 6:28 am

Question is can it be imported to India under transfer of residency?

It is .40 CAL.

Thank You!

=-EDIT-=

If you could also tell me, do I have to wait 1 year before I can import under TR or I can bring it to India before 1 year period?

Thanks.

Yes you can if you fulfill all the criteria for the TR . The .40 cal is a non prohibited caliber for the civilians in India. The problem that you might encounter here in India will be the ammo. I do not think that .40 ammo is available here, so , you need to import it as per your usage.
I presume that you are bringing this firearm with yourself for your usage, also I notice that you are 87 years old. Is your Indian firearm license still valid ?

best,
Rp.

Thank for the fast reply. Also the second question I wanted to ask is, do I have to wait 1 year period to import my firearm or I can bring it with me right away. I don't have license in India, I got my FOID card from the state of Illinois in United States.

Thanks.

Getting a new Indian firearm license at the age of 87 might be extremely difficult to put it mildly.
