since you wanted to know about .22 lr, i got them for rs.18 a round at Garg Armoury. This is 2009 batch, fresh and looks almost like as if its made by Eley.
Need to go and get the rest of my ammo.

BTW, I was told by someone that IOFB is loading their shotshells with imported powder. I don't know how far this is true. Can someone confirm this with more than just hearsay?

Currently just a rumour... lets wait and see if it can be confirmed. Could go the way of the "rumoured" Eley plant imported to manufacture .22 LR ammo... ;)

Cheers!

Whats the latest of 12 bore ammo?

Also, which cartridges should I use in my 12bore Indian made(sxs)?

Dependent on the quantity, your price might vary.

Shoot whatever cartridges you wish and can procure in your 12 bore, as long as your chamber can accomodate the correct size.

Well could you enumerate various qualities available?
I wan't decent quality, not for range or professional shooting.

Im not sure about the "correct size"! Just that its a regular Indian made 12 bore.

By size I assume MoA is referring to the "chamber size". Most current production Indian guns come with 70mm (2 3/4")chambers, though many of the older one's would have had 65mm (2 1/2")chambers. There are (imported) shotguns available with shorter (2" few & far between) as well as longer (3" etc.) chambers.

Shorter cartridges can be safely fired through larger chambers, though the opposite is not true!

Cartridge length is measured as the length the cartridge opens out to after being fired, so for e.g. even if an unfired 70mm shell (with star crimp) seems to be of the same length as a 65mm paper shell (with roll crimp) and would even fit in a 65mm chamber - it should not be used, since the star crimp will open out to beyond the chamber length.

Your chamber size would be stamped on the barrel flats, along with choke size, proof marks etc.

Cheers!

Thanks Mundair for the detailed info. Its quite clear now but some doubts still remain. Mainly because Im not going to open the Gun because its an Ejector Gun & I do not know how to assemble it later.

The shells I've fired through the Gun have been:
65mm/30gm, Cardboard covering. I bought these when I purchased the Gun.

Also what types of carts. are used in Cylinder & choke barrels. I know all types would work on Cylinder.

Is there a dedicated thread in the forum where such discussion has been carried out? If yes, I will go through the topics to learn the basics.

Checked with a dealer Yesterday, he said that I could use both 65 & 70mm carts.
BTW, he was quoting 50/- for Ordinance factories(cardboard) & 70/- for imported plastic carts.

39/- ! That's surprising. Maybe then taxes are higher in Punjab. Nobody is quoting less than 48/- over here.
