Re: RTI for Air pellets - to - Customs / DGFT
I would request everyone to hold their horses. Please don't order anything for the time being.
I am in the process of getting a clarification from DGFT on this as they have a different response and Customs have a different response. Once that clarification comes, depending on the response, you may take necessary action.
Meanwhile, IFG or its members should not be held responsible, if anybody goes ahead with any import and the same gets stuck with Customs.
Regards

Jeff Cooper advocated four basic rules of gun safety:
1) All guns are always loaded. Even if they are not, treat them as if they are.
2) Never let the muzzle cover anything you are not willing to destroy.
3) Keep your finger off the trigger till your sights are on the target.
4) Identify your target, and what is behind it.

These 'interpretation' issues can be dicey! I'd wait too!

heres the link to the FTP-2009-2014-
http://www.ieport.com/foreign_trade_pol ... nt0910.pdf
All those who imported pellets after 27th August 2009 are the lucky ones and may try and have them released.

HS code of Air pellets for air guns is 9306 10 00. Please go to the DGFT site and download ITC HS Schedule 1. Under chapter 93, this code till 2009 was coming under "Restricted" category. The same has been omitted as per notification no. 94/ (RE-2008) / 2004-2009 dated 02/03/2009 for FTP 2009-2014.snIPer wrote:amit888_2000,

But Customs says otherwise. I've filed a clarification with DGFT on the same. Once I receive the reply, I'll update the thread.
