Girrish sharma and his gsr991

Post by Prabhath » Sat Oct 23, 2010 6:08 pm

Members,

Sorry but could not think of any other relevant place to post this. With all due respect to " girrish sharma" and his immense knowledge, I have kind of got sick about reading his posts and his mention of "gsr991" every now and then. His contribution to the forum is absolutely nil and at times his posts tend to be mislead newcomers. All he has done so far is to suggest that any magnum powered airgun needs a license and to my shock, he has also mentioned that a Steyr LP50 would need a license. According to what I have understood from his posts is that ISW is the only good brand of airguns available in India and everything else is worthless. Do we need someone like him in the forum?

but on serious note!!! ISW guns doesnt need a license!!
and is probably the only one that wouldn't need an NOC, and will not be taken action against by "Department".

He has a company by the name of M/s. ISW Guns Private Limited in West Bengal which manufactures air guns.

His posts: here, here and here. For more, click on the handle, and on the following page, click on search for user's posts.

Jeff Cooper advocated four basic rules of gun safety:
1) All guns are always loaded. Even if they are not, treat them as if they are.
2) Never let the muzzle cover anything you are not willing to destroy.
3) Keep your finger off the trigger till your sights are on the target.
4) Identify your target, and what is behind it.

Mr. Girish Sharma is the owner of ISW Guns and is actually the person who is fighting the case in Delhi High Court for getting the order quashed issued by a single judge bench of the same court some years back on a petition filed by PETA (Maneka Gandhi organisation).

The hearing in the case in a double judge bench has been completed on 17.9.2010 and the order has been reserved, which may be delivered any day now.

Mr Sharma doesn't want that Maneka Gandhi and her people get an opportunity to present any fresh evidence in the court that states that air guns are powerful ( so breaks the conditions set in GSR 991) and can be used for any thing other than sports in India.

My firm Banduk Bhandar in Indore has fought a similar case a year back in MP High Court Indore Bench where we were able to get the order by MP High Court that air guns are meant only for sports.

All the necessary papers supporting our cause was provided to us only by Girish Sharma and no one else helped us in he case.

Mr Girish Sharma has been writing and contacting arms dealers and manufacturers in India to provide financial and legal help and only a handful of dealers provided with any help.

He has still to clear the dues of Solicitors in the case.

Best wishes

An apology from me seems to in order after having read Mr Kezar's post. I sincerely apologise to Mr Girrish Sharma for my earlier comments about him and his posts. He seems to be doing something really good for the airgun shooting fraternity and I thank him sincerely for that. The only reason as to why I wrote what I did, because that was what I was able to understand from your posts. They seemed to be kind of discouraging to members. Hope you will accept my apology. Thanks again for what you are doing.

It is upto us we want to follow rule or face the law as Mr. Sanjay Dutt if facing in court for AK47 gun case. I am sure he was also not knowing that holding a weapon like AK47 is a criminal offence and minimum punishment is 5 to 10 years jail. I will only suggest to learn and every one shoud follow law of land.

Hello Girrish.sharma
Hats off to you buddy, had it not been for Kezar , none of us here would have known the yeoman service rendered to all airgun lovers in India. I particularly admire the maturity on your part to remain silent in the face of the verbal barrage you have been subjected to on this thread. Could you be kind enough to pm me details of your solicitor's unpaid dues?
Best Regards

thnaks Kezar for clearing things up.. Girrish you are fighting a good fight, Best of luck to you in your efforts..

just as a side note, Sanjay Dutt wouldn't have know that owning an AK 47 can get him 5 to 10 years, but he would've defintely known it is illegal to the highest order. you dont see AK-47 hung on walls of armories or buy them from dealers.. and i bet being the film star he was then, he had a good legal advisor!!
