Hello everyone
i ordered Champion shooting glasses from intershoot.co.uk some 10 days ago. the guy from intershoot.co.uk said that my package has been sent through Royal Mail Airmail and will be with me in 5 to 6 days and there is no tracking no. how can i confirm that it has been sent from UK and if its lying with Indian Customs? and is there any duty on shooting glasses??? its just the frame and side blinders that i ordered...
Regards

shooting glasses don't shoot and is not related to arms/airguns import. normal taxes apply if not sent as gift..

there is 26.8% duty on goggles,
however, if u request ur FPO Custom officer, stating ur shooting status, than keeping in view there is only 1 piece of shooting glasses, he can excempt 100%....
This happened with me yesterday at delhi FPO.....

Re: Airgun import experiences - via post/ courier route
Hi everyone. I stay in Mumbai and travel to Gujarat every week due to my factory being there. About 8 months ago I joined the rifle club over there in Gujarat and got my membership card also. This came in use when I bought down an air rifle from Dubai in December.
Now i've been bitten by the bug to own another rifle
I want to know if I order a air rifle through courier for delivery to Mumbai ie my home address, and supply a rifle club membership card of another state(gujarat) would it cause a problem? Or are addresses immaterial as long as one has a membership card. My worry is that the customs would say to import the rifle through Gujarat rather then Mumbai as the card is from there.
Anybody knowing/ experienced in similar situations, I would greatly appreciate any info you have.
Thanks.

Re: Airgun import experiences - via post/ courier route
To my knowledge the two port of entries for couriers that ship air rifles to India are Mumbai for UPS and New Delhi for FedEx. (Excludes USPS which comes through the Indian Postal service).
However when you get your shippment through UPS, they have a bad reputation of handling customers. But New Delhi FedEx team is very helpful and prompt on their timelines.
I know club members from other state who are currently living in another city do import with out any hassle. Probably try to get a letter from your rifle club that you are resident of Mumbai and currently doing business & member of the local Gujarat rifle club.

Membership in any club affiliated to the NRAI, New Delhi, will entitle you to an air rifle import.abhishek140270 wrote:Recently I became member of "Sports Authority of Andhra Pradesh" - Descipline - Shooting. I received my ID card also, using this membership can I import a Air Rifle through post?
