" Kill the curiosity" is what I would say, at least my children grew up with access to air guns.I had got to them to handle airsoft guns that would get them a sense of responsibility . No harm if they grew up with guns so long they realize proper handling and safety.

Voted yes..... Looking for an airgun for my 6 year pls kid. Obviously, under full supervision. Which means I don't read / watch TV when he uses the gun. I hold the thing for him, and point it at the correct place. No one is allowed to be nearby, I stand behind him, pellets are handed by me, one by one. Gun is kept hiiiigh up, under lock and key, key is strung along with my car keys (menas I take them with me if I am out). Having said that, can someone help with any outlet in Mumbai where I can get such a gun?
