Can you help me folks..

Post by robincrack » Tue Oct 05, 2010 9:32 pm

hi friends, thanks for giving this chance to ask my question..

About me, I am an NRI living in Europe and I am returning to India within few months (permanently) and I wish to have gun for my personal use - as target shooting and self defence, at present iam having 2 airguns (breakbarrels)

one is Diana .177 bore and other is Gamo Hunter Extreme .22 bore.

my question..

1.Can I bring both these guns with me ..?
2. I wish to have handguns only for india (one semi auto and one revolver) as i decided already. Smith and vesson - revolver and Glock Pistol. I am planning to purchase it from states ( I have visa for states). Can I purchase and bring to india or I have to get license first then only I can bring/purchase guns from states.

last time I visited armoury shops in india and its really looting price there..

plz answer me..

Hi Robin,

Welcome to the forum ? Do you have a valid Arms License in India ? That would be my first question to you before you plan to bring a firearm along from the United States on a TR.

welcome please check the leagal section which would give you the answers you need.

you must have owned any firearms for one year.

airguns bring them if you wish and may get taxed. see the import thread in the legal section.

if you say it can not be done, then you are right, for you, it can not be done.

Here's the thread on Airgun import via personal baggage:

This should answer your query pertaining to airgun import via personal baggage.
