Re: CWG - anyone coming?
I am overall very sad and I believe that the bureaucracy has failed us and cheated the entire nation by this act of gross negligence. Now we can just hope that the games get over without further hiccups.

Re: CWG - anyone coming?
Good news,
All Medals in "Common Wealth Games", will be won by India due to safety reasons, dirtyness, and due to corruption, low quality of construction none of the outsider players will come to play and only Indian player will play. All indoor games will be played in open, due to poor construction of stadium. Its benificial for Indian players, Jai Hind.
)))cheers!!!

Some nations may send their own 'commandos' to look after their own. I wonder what is the procedure for them to bring in their weapons and equipment? Would India allow this anyway?

After all the boots, lets get down on our knees and pray things happen well. OUR country's honour and reputation is at stake. We need some positive thoughts people...
Yes, I hope the thick skinned politicians will have the courtesy to fade away after the games.
India is not the Kalmadi's and Bhanots's.It is you and me.

Why are we conditioned to take recourse to "Luck" and "Prayer" as an alternative to professional approach while starting an assignment in the first place?. What difference does it make even if we pray day and night at this stage , and why should we in the first place ? With no offense meant , the term "positive thought" phrase reminds me of Sheila Dixit's stand !
India IS INDEED THE Kalmadis and Bhanots . If not them , then maybe somebody else with a different name. They have not landed from Mars, but are the product of our own society, they are not aberrations, rather there are millions of them ( actually worse than them). All of them are in charge of most critical aspects governing day to day life in India. We are all aware of the delivery standards and colossal corruption of our bureaucrats and netas. Why is there such an outrage at this fiasco ? It is not that we have been adhering to world class standards all the time and only in CWG somebody slipped.
If you wrote this to lift the somber mood, it is understandable, but I am still surprised at this coming from you , a no nonsense man.

They are indeed the product of our society with due protection provided by our Constitution so that they are not accountable: http://indiansforguns.com/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=11109They have not landed from Mars, but are the product of our own society, they are not aberrations

Re: CWG - anyone coming?
I personally would like to see the games cancelled. It will be a blessing to India.
Here is something well written I just read
Many observers will be tempted to see this failure as a fable of false pride ending in just humiliation. But apathy, not hubris, is India's fatal flaw, and a bracing dose of shame may be exactly what is needed to shake its incredibly capable, but politically inert, middle class into action. The risk is that this shame will inject new life into the old argument that India suffers from too much democracy — a favorite hobby horse of this bunch. No, India is not China. But the Games fiasco was not the result of parliamentary gridlock or popular protest. The farce was scripted by cronyism, corruption and a complete lack of accountability — all aided by the Indian politician's complete disregard for the voter's disgust. Unfortunately, the most shameful are the most shameless.
BTW The Sports betting on CWG is in action now in U.K and Ireland the Cancellation of games is going for 20/1 and Postponing is 3/1.

I for one really want these games to fail because I know if they are successful then these same netas and babus will thump their chests and everything will be forgotten.
How some games can be pride of INDIA? If you guys think they are then you people have very narrow view on INDIAN pride. I think we will be a proud nation the day when we will be corruption free, when logic will prevail rather than religious fanatism.
Spending 70K crores on games when millions of poor people sleep without food daily is utter bullshit.
I hope this time citizens of this country wake up and take good care of Kalmadi and his cronies.

its true what kanwar says, but it is also true that any body who thinks that india can clean up its politics n end corruption and poverty should wake up to smell the coffee .every country suffers from these issues,,we happen to be in a worst case scenario..its the AXIS OF EVIL.,.politics and politicians are corrupt,so the beauracracy too is corrupt, and poverty exists cause of corrupt people eating the money rather than as my friend has pointed out..feeding the hungry..AXIS OF EVIL..

Wheeeeeeeeewwwww! With that kind of money we could have fed poor of this country for a 5 years...Its stupidity to spend that much on some stupid games for 10 days when people are dying of hunger!!!!This kind of thing annoys me to death.
This reminds me of Senator Gracchus's words in "Gladiator"

Re: CWG - anyone coming?
i hope, as one can hope that what you say will come to be..atleast in our life time,if corruption can be finished, the rest will follow, but corruption is second nature to us..when a country, whos cops demand and take bribes from beggers,[and i have witnessed this in a number of cities] fails to meet the COMMON WEALTH STANDARDS,we as indians should not be too shocked at this fiasco.
