Gunmark of Pune

Post by nash » Thu Sep 16, 2010 3:08 am

Hi guys..
I enquired about Diana 460 magnum .22 with Gunmark of Pune who're apparently the official dealers of Diana air guns in India..
They asked me to wait for a month for the gun and the price they quoted was 54K..
Now I came to know that they don't actually import the gun directly from Germany and instead import all the parts from there and assemble it here.. Is that true?
I'm kinda confused..

Pls help me guys.. I'm seriously planning to buy a Diana 460 from them but only if its the original Diana and not an assembled one..

Thanks and regards..
Nash..

is there a difference in Performance and warranty between these 2 types?
If there is none, then should there be a concern?

Hi Nash,homast1,
I have had deals with Gunmark....no they dont come in bits & pieces infact two guns i bought from them were in fully functional condition & I bought them when he actually recived them....basically from courier guy straight to me. Both were springers. this is my experience. gunmark has a nice little work shop too, by the look of his people repairing, assembling & maitaining the products They seemed qite ok to me. Gunmark is official impoter of Diana in India was confirmed to me by Diana before I bought my products..so the question of warranty does not arise....if he is officia & selling it he will do the needful.

Hi sanjay bhai..

I got to know bout gunmark and Mr. Prasad only cos of u..Thanks a ton for that..

I checked the website of Dianawerk, Germany, they haven't mentioned gunmark's name, whereas they've mentioned other dealer's names in other countries..

Isn't commercial import of airguns banned in our country? Then how come only Gunmark is allowed to do that?

Kindly throw some light on that guys..

Thanks and regards..
Nash..

Very surprising. Their name was listed a couple of moths back - In fact I had sent Gunmark a mail post this (unfortunately to no avail - got NO reply!) . Maybe they have stopped/lost their distributorship for India.

Hi Rhys..
I'm not talking about any issues with the Gunmark guys but about the Dianas being originally imported or being assembled by them..

I've heard quite a few positive feedback about The Gunmark of Pune... and heard that Mr.Prasad Kulkarni is a thorough professional... and thats what prompted me to order my Diana 460 with them... But when I heard a few of the IFGians say that Gunmark guys import all the spare parts and assemble it in Pune... it kinda confused me a bit.... but anyways... i'm keeping my fingers crossed that i would get an original diana 460 from them... hopefully...

Dear Members,
Please read the topic Gunmark Air Rifles / Air Pistols. Also note that it is illegal to import air guns in India except registered shooters who are restricted to the calliber .177 . Due to the same Diana do not have any dealer in India though they are interested to. Why not to use imported air guns. It is because their velocity is as good as a .22 Indian rifle and they may be used for hunting which is banned in this sweet nation.
Then how do you get Dianas in India ? The people coming from foreign countries bring them as a part of their luggage because they cannot be restricted by the custom officers as it is not a fire arm. Specially the shooters on their return from
an International Tournament bring a number of imported air guns on the same term.
For the shooting competitions .177 calliber is required and that's why a registered shooter can import an air rifle of the same calliber without any difficulty but .22 calliber is not allowed even for a shooter.
Now when you buy an imported air rifle in India it is brought by the above mentioned sources. There is no problem in buying these guns but the only problem is their horrible prices !!! The shopkeepers buy these guns offering a good profit to the owners and then sell them to earn a better profit. A person who is mad for such weapons is nicely fleeced at the end.
This is the tragic end of the story.
Don't forget that a Diana's original price is less than the half of what we pay in India !!!!
