Aimco shipped the air rifle, GSmith Pellets that i ordered, and a complementary pack of Aimco pellets securely packed in a wooden crate. I was really impressed with the care that was taken in packing the rifle and the pellets. Since I ordered the pellets along with the rifle, Aimco reduced the shipping cost of the pellets. I would definitely recommend Aimco any day.
Here is a pic of the rifle:

Me too. Aimco is really good to respond and the gun M300 I purchased from Aimco is really worth the cost.
I already have a Beeman R9 and RWS Diana 350 Magnum, both in 0.177 Cal. The finish of this rifle doesn't quite compare to either. I wasn't expecting that either. Just wanted to have a 0.22 cal air rifle for plinking when I can't take my Beeman or Diana.
I hope to post reviews of the IHP when I take it out into the field and have a chance to shoot a few pellets.

Nash, depends on what you want to use the rifle for. A 0.177 rifle is ideal for target practice and has a flatter trajectory. The 0.177 pellets are smaller and weigh less than the 0.22 pellets. Since the 0.177 weighs less, it has a longer range that the 0.22. Since you say "for me range matters more than the power it generates", I would suggest you go for a 0.177.nash wrote:You mean ihp 35 .177 cal covers 10m more range than a .22 cal? i've ordered National .22 cal from Aimco.. i thought both the rifles cover the same distance thats why i opted for the .22.... for me range matters more than the power it generates.... and is there any difference in the size of ihp .22 and .177??? kindly advice me guys.... my order will be shipped tomorrow... so should i go .22 or change my order to .177???

Hijacking a thread with your own query which is off topic is bad manners. Either use the search option on the forum, or, check with the dealers given in Yellow pages section, or start your own fresh thread in Wanted section.FAIYZAN wrote:Hello where at kolkota can i get jimmy 400

Jeff Cooper advocated four basic rules of gun safety:
1) All guns are always loaded. Even if they are not, treat them as if they are.
2) Never let the muzzle cover anything you are not willing to destroy.
3) Keep your finger off the trigger till your sights are on the target.
4) Identify your target, and what is behind it.

Re: IHP "National" air rifles & pistols
Dear members
Model 100, 150, 200, 300 and now 400 manufactured by Kolkata makers, have virtually same features, only they change the shapes of the butt. They make designs on barrells just like threading on screws with the help of Lathes, installed in heir workshops. In some they fix aluminium butt plates instead of rubber which definitely hurts the shoulders since the trigger pull is very hard. They don,t have any factrories as such. Only few people are making different parts and the rest being assembled by all.
I am myself a gun dealer and find it very difficult to convince my customers that all the models are same.
I am lucky that, most of the times I am successfull in convicing the customers and make the sale of National IHP air rifles and in Kolkata make rifles 35 , 50 and 65 are sufficient, since these three models vary in sizes of butt and barrell length.
Cheers

Yes, you can add scope on national air rifle.
I can supply the same. You will need to fix a scope rail, scopes are already available with rings for mounting scopes on rail.
Air Rifle already fitted with scope rail plus scope or without scope is available.
Only scope rail also available.
Cheers

Re: IHP "National" air rifles & pistols
Hi IFGians,
I happen to come across the site of national air arms, calicut, who promises us of his air rifles capable of giving perfect shot at the range of 100-120 mtres. The prices of the product also gives me bit embarrassing. Some of the pictures of the air rifles uploaded are ditto of IHP products. I am confused, whether they are the dealer of IHP or manufacturer. can any body comment on this.

Re: IHP "National" air rifles & pistols
national air arms is just another dealer. They are for local purchase of Indian Airguns, the website doesnt seem to be updated with the latest stock or availability. And the last time i tried to speak to them they wouldn't ship to customers, and didnt have any impressive stock or prices.
Everydealer says 100 mts range for the airguns they sell.. may be we are supposed to learn from our mistakes

Re: IHP "National" air rifles & pistols
Hi all,
Have shot approx 2,500+ pellets over the last 2 months from my newly acquired IHP N-35 .177and also found accuracy improving over this period. Happy with the rifle so far, lets say 75%-80% of the shots from 10mts hit the black bulls eye which is 4.5cms in diameter
Recently however the rifle has started mis-firing. Trigger pull results in a softer "phat" than its original "thwak" and the pellet gets stuck in the barrel. The dealer told me that after every 2,500 shots the seal gets destroyed and needs replacement. He also suspects that the spring may be weaker and need replacement. Was curious to know if this is approx the correct milestone for replacement of the above parts
Should I go for factory defaults or something better (seals/springs other than IHP that could add some power to an already thrillingly powerful gun) and would that be available in Mumbai ? Do kindly suggest the name of a gunsmith that you may have had a good experience with (i.e if the individual is really interested in improving the gun and could provide suggestions rather than just re-fit the worn out parts with new ones). So far I have decided to go for Bombay Gun House (above the dealer from where I bought the gun)
Lastly .. I do know that guns perform differently with different pellets. Mine is more accurate with flatheads than pointed. Is that usualy the case with a .177 N-35?? ... if not how does one gain accuracy with all types of pellets??
Regards
Dara

Re: IHP "National" air rifles & pistols
Refurbishing IHP air-rifle
I have been through all the 40 pages of this thread, an excellent resource for IHP owners.
There is an IHP air-rifle at my home in Pune, bought in 1992 or earlier. I don't know the model number or the calibre. As far as I know, it hasn't been used at all for the past 9 years. Not even oiled. Knowing the owner (a deceased family member), he probably oiled it, put it in it's canvass bag and stored it in a trunk and forgot about it. I do know the barrel has a few rough spots (which appear rusty instead of blue) and the stock is cracked (big crack, almost cleaves the stock where the trigger mechanism is). The piece wasn't used frequently, I shouldn't be surprised if less than 500 pellets have been though the barrel. It was once "fired" with the barrel broken over. The barrel must be bent.
I will be returning to Pune, and I would like to refurbish the air-rifle and start using it. I know the stock should be replaced. What else should I look for? Is it best to take it to a gunsmith? A google search came up with Aimpoint, Safari Arms, Gunmark / Gsmith, Patankar, Naraindas Deepchand, H B Jatap and Badruddin Abdultayeb. Any references / reviews about them? And finally, is this refurbishing exercise worth the money? If the piece has to be taken apart, can it be made "better"? At the begining of this thread there is talk of some experimenting, what came of it?
Thanks in advance.

Re: IHP "National" air rifles & pistols
Hi everybody ! This is Premjit Patil, one of the best shooters in the world. I don't want to waste my words for Indian air guns as they are the worst of all. Please go for Diana 31, if you are a beginner and Diana 34 for a better range. There are 350 or 460 magnums also for a long range of 300 ft. I have a huge collection of air guns. I am mad for guns and this madness began some twenty-five years ago when I was a small kid.
Once again I repeat, please don't waste your valuable money for buying Indian guns. If someone wants to give me an Indian air gun as a gift, please remember that I would not touch it. So for God's sake, please don't do that.
IHP air gun is nothing but a fake copy of Diana. I used it long ago as a kid but was not impressed.

Sir nice making your acquaintance. Do tell us about all the medals you have won! (sorry but Google has been singularly unhelpful this time! )

You will have to get your chamber polished on a lathe. (If you are faced with power loss it is a given that your chamber is horribly scored - my seal had started fraying in some 50 shots). Post this please invest in a good seal - Diana Blue Seals or any imported ones. Details of my experience with this can be had here - http://indiansforguns.com/viewtopic.php ... 67#p110906
Flatheads are by design more accurate upto some 15mtrs. Beyond that you will find the round heads to be more accurate. Pointed ones that you get in INdia are rarely accurate due to manufacturing intolerances.
