I guess the basic idea for going in on paper was that, later on, if the courts ask, we can show them the signed membership forms. That, we as an organization have these many members and these many forms who are for Pro gun rights. The same may not be possible with internet forms unless people download it, sign it, scan it and send it back. Abhijeet..??

Jeff Cooper advocated four basic rules of gun safety:
1) All guns are always loaded. Even if they are not, treat them as if they are.
2) Never let the muzzle cover anything you are not willing to destroy.
3) Keep your finger off the trigger till your sights are on the target.
4) Identify your target, and what is behind it.

There are still legal issues involved with scans and emailed forms. At the present only a digitally signed document(only digital signatures obtained from government approved digital signature providers) is considered as irrefutable. For scans anyone can contest in court that scan was not of the original document(unless the original document is presented by owner in court). Similarly for emails one can contest that email does not belong to the person that is claimed to be(unless the owner of email himself presents in court and says that email belongs to him and he sent the email). Therefore IMHO at present signed hard copy seems only practical option. By the way we can study how NRA of USA is recruiting members over internet, and see if that method is feasible in India.

Gentlemen/Mods,

Can we bring this thread to the forum board's home page as a sticky announcement .. lot of people would be visiting this site for the first time now .. everyone may not dig into RKBA section .. besides many of them may not even know the full form of RKBA till now.
I'm guessing this out of my experience with the people whom I've shared the membership form with.
They're completely new/naive.

Thanks

Sent my application last week, but how does one confirm if it was received. I think sending confirmation e-mails would be a good idea.

Been travelling, just got in last night - so online time has been very limited and my delay in responding to this thread. The applications are being handled by Amit's office staff, will ask him to send me the consolidated list with details so acknowledgements can be sent out to all.

Cheers!

1> Is it possible to introduce IFG on Facebook as "suggested sites" where people can say "like this" after going through it?

2> We from Karnataka state should try and target people from Coorg since almost all houses in Coorg have guns as their tradition and a lot of the younger generation either study/work in urban places who are net savy. A lot of Mangaloreans own guns too. Should some how get these people involved. As for me, Im trying to pass a word among my Coorgi friends.

The famous Coorgi Generals..... Cariappa and Thimayya.
There was a time when the Coorgis had rights to own guns without a licence.
