Gentlemen,
Last few months India has witnessed a few recalls in terms of various automobiles, IOF would rather shut down than recall any of its products for civilian use.

Here is a link about Sig P238 recall. I presume that there will hardly be any owner in India but then who knows ? This pistol is in .380 acp and some lucky bloke might have gotten it on TR.

It's always better to have a gun and not need it than need a gun and not have it !

That's what a professional and responsible organization does. IOF probably will not even acknowledge the fault.

Jeff Cooper advocated four basic rules of gun safety:
1) All guns are always loaded. Even if they are not, treat them as if they are.
2) Never let the muzzle cover anything you are not willing to destroy.
3) Keep your finger off the trigger till your sights are on the target.
4) Identify your target, and what is behind it.

IOF is without fault as its complaint department is empty of complaints, that shows they have no complaints and their goods are world renowned.

I hear they (IOF) loctite/ epoxy the barrel bushing these days, as owners are not expected NOR encouraged to properly strip down & maintain their pistols! Doing so will in fact void IOF's ironclad one year warranty - they are after all a "public" enterprise out to serve the "public"

Abhijeet How can you be so unpatriotic and un-civic? Cant you see how much they care for the customer. Using a simple expedient like Loctite spares the customer seeing the horrors that lay within. Nothing could be more considerate.

The P238 has actually had quite a few issues.
I love my SIG's but from all I have read about the P238, I wouldn't buy one.
A carry guns is one you will be trusting your life to. It should go bang every time you pull the trigger.
While it is possible for any manufacturer to turn out a lemon, so many people have problems with this one that I would stay away from it.
This is just for information. I am not refuting anything that Doc says about IOF
