Jeff Cooper advocated four basic rules of gun safety:
1) All guns are always loaded. Even if they are not, treat them as if they are.
2) Never let the muzzle cover anything you are not willing to destroy.
3) Keep your finger off the trigger till your sights are on the target.
4) Identify your target, and what is behind it.

Dear Sanjay ,
Am located in Delhi NCR , n my budget is around 1-1.25 lacs , but i can spend a bit more also , if i really get sumthing good .
Now it come to my purpose ...... i think ny DBBL gun , whther its indian or imported , can be used for self defence , n we all know how much we use the gun for self defence , we just show it , rather thn we use it , so in that case i can buy any general indian make SxS , which i will get around 15k , but the thing is , can we use it for occassional shooting also.... i think No , we can't .
So , thats why am luking for O/U , so i can use it for some occassional shooting also .
Now i 100% agree with u , ny imported decent o/u will cost me above 2 lacs only ....that i have already seen , n apart from that i have already visited to the meerut gun market + delhi gun stores (named by you) n i have also discussed it with Arshad(IFG member), Garg armoury , has got nuthin as of now , K.K.Sharma , gosh , the main guy was buzy on fone all the time , i think his father showed us 2 pieces only , they were in a terrible condition , n he made all his efforts to conveynce me to buy his guns on his price.
But i didnt try Sharda gun house , and Rajdhani traders , will try them too , imported o/u are not available in the market , n if there is any available , there prices r too high .
So , i will wait to see Webley n scott o/u , i hope if i get it in gud price by chance ...... i wud like to go for it , or else now , am planning to buy a Meher singh o/u only , rather thn an imported second hand SxS .
i agree wid u .....Visho has got a good deal , the gun is really nice , i have to luk about the price too .... if its negotiable i wont mind to buy that one too...... so lets see , wat all comes to my way.
thnkss for ur suggestions bro , will let u all about my final decision.

Thankss

Waltherguns007, Cut the text speak. Its already hard to read with so many ( ..... ) in sentences and you are making it worse with typing in SMS language.

In your budget...you can get a SxS in excellent condition...as good as they come...but definitely not an O/U....keep looking around

you might be able to get in 26inch from munger or any used India manufactured sxs.

hi Mandeep,
A DBBL shaktiman should fit in your budget.

Hi Waltherguns007,
I recently purchased a webley scott sxs for 1Lac.
30barrell,twin ejectors,choke chamber,original stock,re blued,tight as a fiddle,barrell mirror finish,hammerless,engraved action.
You should get one at the same price range.
Atleast here in bombay and the surrounding areas dealers are gasping for breath due to recession and strict licensing.Must be a similar situation in other cities also.
I did buy from a close dealer friend who was quoting 1.75,but eventually settled for 1Lac.You might get one for the same price if lucky or a little bit more.
Already have a buyer in bangalore for 1.25Lacs.
The charm and beauty of a imported gun is different compared to indian guns.Though both do the same job.
If budget is no issue go in for a english gun.You will always get more than what you have paid-if its well looked after.Dont forget the satisfaction you get using it.
Happy Gunning.
