Hi folks, son of my friend wanted to participate in 10M air rifle conpetition in one of Rifle clubs in Kerala. He has his own .177 Diana model 25 but it looks club is not allowing him to use his own rifle for competition instead forcing him to use the .177 National air rifles from club which is not at all practiced/familiar with.

Looking for IFG folks comment on this.
Is there any guidelines or rules around using own rifle for competitions in rifle clubs ?

that is sad.
one needs to check out the club rules. if noting is there then ground for objection. also find out for what reason he can not use his Diana?

Maybe they want to encourage the local industry and also to keep a level playing field. You can suggest to them to have different "classes" for competition, One with ANY rifle and one just for the ones using the National rifles. This way both get to play and maybe the kid with a beat up National can beat the fancy Anchutz (or Diana), afterall, its not the arrow its the Indian :)
