Okay wake up all ye marksmen. The Delhi State is organizing the annual competition only for air rifle and air pistol at the Siri Fort range from the 27th to the 29th of March. Fees have to be paid by the 25th of March. I will request Olly to scan and put up the circular. Some of us Delhi Dahlings will be going just to lighten up the atmosphere with our lousy shooting
. At least the serious shooters will have a good time that way.
Regards,
Dev

Delhi State Competition update

Today on the first day of the state competition, one of the Delhi Darlings has layed down a blistering performance.
With about four days of practise and hurting forearm and knee Ollie has laid down a score to be proud of 527/600...with a club pistol and his first attempt. I think he has scored to qualify for the GVM already but let's see normally it is about 85% or so, he has shot 88%.
My hat is off to the lad and now let's see how the other two fare.
Kamal ke Anupam as the saying goes.
Regards,
Dev

Thanks Dev.
The details :
Match No. N-41, Air Pistol (ISSF) 10 Mtr. National Championship Men (Individual)
Score: 524/600 (I just went and verified at the range) which is 87.33%
Yes, it was my first ever attempt at Air Pistol and the second shooting competition in my life. Last time I competed in 50 Mtr Men Prone event and scored 74%.
Dev, I must admit, has been like a mentor and guide and I attribute this score to his persistence and motivation. NM has been another pusher and motivator. Gems of guys... both of them.... ! I may not have competed at all, had it not been for them. Thanks to Abhijeet for making us all meet through IFG.
Now them remaining Delhi Darlings are gonna compete tomorrow and day-after. My most sincere prayers and best wishes to them for a good score. May they qualify as 'Renowned Shots'.

Thanks guys !
With all the load of good wishes, it will be well worthy to try our luck at the GVM / North Zone championships.
Prayers for other Delhi Darlings were partially answered. Our very own, Dev made it with a score of 502. NM with 436 and OUP with 466 (Air Rifle) would need another round of practice and some heavy push from us to motivate them to compete again. The biggest handicap which we all faced was that none of us had our own guns. The range stuff is fu##ed and you don't know if it is even zeroed in or not.... When you are competing against a truck load of army men and police men, besides renowned shots, it makes a lot of difference and medals are not easy for the picking....
So now, the first thing is to get a Steyr LP10 and start afresh !
Thanks once again...

Thanks for making the usual excuses for my score. The fact is that these sports need the required hours to be put in. Just glad that I didn't score below 500. And the funny thing is that I shot better with my IZH-Baikal 46m on my earlier foray. Thanks to you and the rest of the Dahlings for proving that just participation can be fun and a good excuse for us to gang up and have fun.
There shall be another Delhi stste in the next financial year...i.e. after this 31st March.

To make the cut,you folks are going to have to practice regularly, the scores reflect the lack of it...

Good going lads!
Anupam, I have a Gamo biathlon pistol lying at home in Delhi. I wouldn't mind you using it for practise. It's no LP5, (and it's single stroke pneumatic). But it's match grade.
