The first South Delhi Open Shooting Championship successfully concluded at the Dr. Karni Singh Shooting Range in Delhi

Bharat Chauhan New Delhi,The first South Delhi Open Shooting Championship successfully concluded at the Dr. Karni Singh Shooting Range in Delhi. More than 70 shooters from across the country participated in this competition organized in memory of industrialist Dr. RC Mangla, including many international level shooters. The competition was organized by South Delhi District Rifle Association.
SDDRA vice president Abhijeet Singh told that most of the competitors of this championship are participating in upcoming National shotgun shooting championship which is going to be in New Delhi this month.
SDDRA Secretary Nishant Mangla said that We are very proud to inform the 1st South Delhi District Shotgun Shooting Competition in Trap & Skeet was conducted very successfully at KSS Ranges with participants from all over the country including Chennai, Gujarat, West Bengal, Punjab, HP, UP and Haryana. Our gratitude to entire DSRA governing body and observer Shri JS Marwah for the cooperation.
Delhi’s skeet shooters captured the RC Mangala Cup winning the best team title. The team included Fatehbir Singh Shergil, Haris-ul-Islam, Syed Hammad Meer, Zaid Ali Khan, Syed Shahid Ahmed Saghir and Sanjay Saini. Bihar cadre IAS officer Vipin Kumar honored the winners by wearing medals, as well as tried his hand trap shooting.
In the trap shooting ISSF men event Ali Aman Elahi won the gold medal with a score of 119 points, Adhiraj Singh Rathore won the silver with 116 score and Vikram Bhatnagar won the bronze medal with 112 points. In the junior category of this event, Ali Aman Elahi, Arya Singh Dagar and Arya Vansh Tyagi won the Gold, Silver and Bronze medals with scores of 119, 113 and 108 points respectively.
In the trap shooting ISSF Women’s event, Alaina Ashim Paul won the gold medal by scoring 108, Ashima Khanna win silver by scoring 94 while Malik Sadia won the bronze with a score of 88 points. In the junior category of this event, Ashima Khanna, Suhanya Singh and Hitasha won Gold Silver and Bronze Medals respectively.
In the skeet shooting ISSF men event, Fatehbir Singh Shergill won the gold, scoring 118, Haris-Ul-Islam won silver on 113 and Karan Vikram Singh won the bronze with 111 points. In the junior category of this competition, Rajvir Singh Gill, Bhavteg Singh Gill and Uday Pratap Singh Grewal won gold, silver and bronze medals by hitting 115, 112 and 108 targets.
In the trap shooting NR men event, Amit Kumar Tomar scored 96, Vikas Khoth hit 93 and Rajesh Singh scored 91 to win Gold, Silver and Bronze medal. In the junior category, Udayvir Singh Jaijee won the gold medal on 94, famous shooter Jaspal Rana’s son Yuvraj Singh Rana won the silver medal by hitting 73 targets and Rudraksh Chopra had to settle for bronze with a score of 68 points.
In the skeet shooting ISSF Women event, Asees Chhina hit 109 targets to win gold in both senior and junior categories.
