Anyone from IFG participating? Good luck, guys, and I hope you win if you do. Beers on me to those who participate and beer and venison to whoever wins when we meet in Chicago.

That said, I must bring up the DSRA and NRAI's characterisation of guns usedin the matches as "weapons." What a bunch of clowns! When did single shot bolt rifles in 22 lr weighing 10 lbs plus become weapons? The sarkari "guns are evil and no one deserves to have them" mentality shows in these jokers who are actually supposed to be promoting a sport. Sheesh!

Dear All
Yes im participating and hoping to defend my Gold medal  , well the preperations are underway ... hope it all comes together on the given day
... best of luck to all others and remember for every 7 you shoot you need two 10's to cover it up ... and thats just to get back to square one hehe

just kidding (competition psychology and all that), naah just go have fun and watch your sights (not the bloody target, or the wonderful gap between the target and your sights -- just the sights) , and you will be in great shape.
With regards,
Steyrshot
And he lifted his pistol as the crowds cheered ... the sights sharpened ... the target blurred ... the finger squeezed ... DAMN !!! forgot to load the silly thing again  ... The crowd now looks the other way ... I wake up from my Nightmare !!! :D

Dear Mehul
Just on a different note ... you may think of the NRAI badly ... but just to let you know of all the state rifle associations .. DSRA is proabably the most transparent and efficient and hold open elections to make up the body.

This state event is the 2nd one they are holding this year in addition to Inter school and district competitions, most states are still waking up !!!

whether it is availability of ammunition for practice, weapons, equipment you will find a simple solution and if there is a problem at least you will find someone whose willing to help and make a few phone calls on your behalf.

In addition you will find the office bearers of the DSRA the only ones who seem to care about any problems a shooter may face, when was the last time anyone got a call from a official reminding him of final dates for form submissions/ or filling in forms and match fees for you if your out of town, or making phone calls on your behalf to help get your licence processed a little faster.

There are many stories like this, when DSRA officials have filled in fees and match forms for out of station shooters out of their own pocket / provided their own weapons to shooters who dont have any.... it goes on and on

please give atleast these guys a break, they are the only shooting body who seem to care about what is going on and take it up on a regular basis.
