How some people in India own a foreign Rifle legally ??

How is that possible an Indian other than NRI to own a foreign made rifles like Remington/Winchester 30-06?
Does the Issued Indian gun license applicable to own a foreign gun?
How..???

The same way people with Indian driving licenses are able to drive/ own foreign made cars!
If it has been legally imported into India, nothing preventing a license holder from purchasing it against the correct license...

Generally they are more than 30 years old when import of arms was banned in India.

Okay bro mundaire, if one can avail then which gun store do you recommend to buy from? I came across one gun store through googling name as VISHAL GUN HOUSE in Chandigarh where they sell foreign made pistols & rifles.
And to my amaze, also came across the news published that the owner had been arrested...

Any idea... Which and where is the legit gun store in India besides IOF??? Coz I don't like iof rifle!!!

it should be minimum 30yrs or else its illegal.(few exceptions...residence change from abroad)

You are right, renowned shooters are importing weapons and can sell them after 5 years or after 3 years if they continue to be renowned shooters for 3 years.

According to the article that you posted, the shop is closed.
In which case, I'm sure that they aren't going to be selling anything to anyone for a while.

Do you even have a valid arms license? If not, then you cannot buy any firearm.

This is what Section 15(1) of Arms Act 1959 says -
15. Duration and renewal of licence.-(1) A licence under section 3 shall, unless revoked earlier, continue in force for a period of three years from the date on which it is granted:
Provided that such a licence may be granted for a shorter period if the person by whom the licence is required so desires or if the licensing authority for reasons to be recorded in writing considers in any case that the licence should be granted for a shorter period.
The truth is now self evident.

The poor fellow seems confused between an 'All India Validity' passport valid till 2025. and an 'All India Valid Arms License'.
In Gurgaon the passport and arms license booklet look quite similar including the blue colour.
