Hi,
There is a news piece in a Bengali daily. Those who can read Bengali, here is the link:
http://bartamanpatrika.com/content/sports.htm
For rest, below is the verbatim translation:
"One air rifle costs 1.2 Lacs. Rifles used for 50 meter or free-rifle costs 2.5 Lacs. These are not manufactured in India and are imported from Germany. For this reason, 5-6 shooters are forced to use one rifle for practice in the state (west bengal) clubs.
On Wednesday, 15 shooters participated in a state tournament at Belgachia (in Kolkata) with 3 rifles. The means are not there but the passion is and hence many were there at this competition. The popularity of shooting sports has increased after Abhinav Bindra's Gold in the 2008 olympics. Hence, more than 300 shooters are participating in this state meet happening at Belgachia."
Sad but true.
Regards
