Hi! Guys & Gals.
Came back from Jaipur last evening. You all will be happy to know that my son shot a pretty good score though he botched up in the finals. Maybe due to nervousness. He shot a 92/125 and came fourth in Juniors. The way he was shooting in the practice, I thought he would shoot a 100 plus score. Guys, the facilities are beautiful on the Jaipur range even better than the Karni Singh Range at Thughlaqabad. I have a few photographs but my digital camera has a minimum limit of 1.8 Megapixels which I don't think I can download on this site because of the file size.

Arindam,

Congratulations to your son on his good shooting from all of us here.

Just upload the pictures that you have taken to www.photobucket.com or to www.hunt101.com and post the links here. That would be the easiest way to get all of us to enjoy them.

We shall look forward to your posting the links here soonest.

Cheers!

92 is an excellent score. With proper training and a gun that will fit, he is bound to bring in more laurels. My congratulations, and let me know how I can help you to bring up this emerging talent.

How was he shooting from the middle stations, particularly high house and how did he fare with the single bird from station 6 from low house. Is he quick enough to get this one ? Were the low house scores 100 % ?

Thanx, Shahid for your generous offer. My son is into Trap shooting and not Skeet. All the Ranges, in total four, are Combo Ranges at the Jagatpura Ranges in Jaipur i.e. both for Trap and Skeet. If you notice, in the photographs, all 5 shooters are standing in a straight line ( Station 1 - 5 ) whereas in Skeet, 7 stations are in a semi circle with the 1st and the 7th being directly below the high house and in front of the low house respectively and the 8th one being dead centre between the high and the low house. As for the grade of difficulty, stations 1, 7, and 8 are the easiest and it gets difficult on the middle stations as you progress especially stations 3, 4 & 5 and then reduces as you progress further to 6 and so on.

Thanx Guys and I have finally submitted his papers for import of a Beretta 682 Gold EX, 30" Barrel, Optima Chokes with memory system and adjustable comb and 15000 rounds of ammo. Hopefully it will come in a months time. Then maybe he can get down to some serious practice.

125 score indicated 5 rounds of skeet. For juniors only 5 stations are used with 1 single shot from middle stn.

Junior trap scores depending on 1 round or 2 rounds will be 75 or 150 max points from 5 stations.

Maybe they used full range, but how 125 points was it 5 rounds of 25 birds each only single shots ? Here we award 3 points from first shot and 2 from 2nd shot for Trap. I am shooting more trap myself these days.

I have a replica DBBL rifle .375 H & H Mag by Gustav & Genshaw, Germany. It was made to order and imported from Manton & Co. Calcutta in 1935. Along with this two other shooter friends of my Grandfather had imported a 450/400 Double and a 30-06 rimmed double in the same deal. All 3 of these rifles are there in Patna.

Webley Scott 12 bore, box lock was a gun I used to carry a lot during my early days. Now I prefer my Army & Navy with 28'' barrels.

This BOSS 20 bore with 26 inch barrels will be quite a field gun. I would love to shoot with it.

Let me know if you need shooting vest, earmuffs or shooting glasses for your son. The score deserves a present for further encouragement. He also gets a Holland & Holland DVD from me on Trap & sporting clays shooting. Instructor is Ken Davies himself.
