Thanks agnbhai,

I could not have put it better. However, I would suggest another method, quite simple if you really have the wish.

- Buy black paper sheets from the market.
- Cut out 6 cm diameter (3 cm radius) circles. This the 7th ring of the AP target card.
- Paste one in the middle of the blank side of each of your target card

Now you have your electronic target cards ready. No concentric circles, no point marks but only what you need to shoot. Shoot exclusively on these targets so that you do not have any notion of score. Well, do not turn the card either to find out what you would have scored :D .

Tir

What can I say? After reading your post, i can only say that my Spirits have soared and how! :D

My Venerable Guru once told me; "It is not only person who avidly searches for a Guru, but it is also the Guru who is equally and avidly in search for the right pupil!" "Both are incomplete without the Other."

hey congrats tir on your qualification. May more such victories come to you in the near future.

AGN,
Regarding getting used to e-targets, one fellow shooter at my range and I sometimes, cut the 9 ring from a target paper, reverse the paper so that now you only see a blank target with a hole, and then place it on a normal target paper with the hole of the cut target paper coinciding with the black of the below target and here you go. This is as near as you can get to shooting on e-targets.

agn bhai,

Please do not go for long sessions of shooting unless you have the physical conditions in order. One more thing, I fear that you are not compensating the non shooting side after all the efforts you are putting in with your shooting hand. It means that there is going to be a serious imbalance in your stature and problem of posture. Please report back.

I have a questions for the gurus, from my experience.

I was doing the breathing in the following manner:

1. Deep breathing in while raising the weapon
2. Releasing the breath slowly while setlling down in the AA and finishing the 1st stage
3. Holding the breath and waiting for the SA to settle down
4. 2nd stage finish

I was getting ok ok results with this effort. But today tried something different. Raised the pistol while breathing in, settled down in the AA while breathing out. Took another breathe in and finished 1st stage, started breathing out and then held it, let the SA settle down fully that is minimum movement and finished the 2nd stage. Tried this about 20 times, the groups seemed better.

Did this really happen or is it just coincidence and there is no science behind it?

Regards

I plead guilty - only a light warm up - so no serious compensation of the LHS during those long sessions. :stupid:

Went yesterday night - shot 40 on 4 cards - 10/ each. Did not count but noted only that the DS = 70%. 3/40 shots in #7. Range shut down early as the RO was bored; so returned home. Did not intend on a long session anyway. Will try to go tomorrow morning as the range shuts down at 1600 (officially).

BTW, checked with VS - seems the 0.5" rubber strips stuck to the grip are a "No-No". Also checked with the good Doc who suggested 'Chandubhai' - but do not know him personally - so, now have to check with someone at MRA. Read ISSF book around pp 371 - nothing that should ideally stop me, but then it all will depend on who does my WC. ;-) Let us see. :?

I am using a stone (I know sounds stone age, but i find it good enough till i get my weights back from Ahmednagar) roughly 2-3 kgs.

Yes I have always placed my palms the distance of my shoulders which is roughly 22 inches.

Hi hvj1,

2. Upper & Lower back
3. Stomach
4. Legs

Dear Brihaji,
The rowing machine is the ultimate exercising machine, in fact I planne to orderone, but stayed the idea of investing so much. Instead I have installed a single bar and double bar yesterday. I am taking each day at a time, LISTENING to my body, rather than ploughing on the way I used to when I was 25. Doing 40-50 one handed push ups, keeping time with the 'Eye of the Tiger' theme from Rocky! :D
Regards
