You need to qualify in the All India Mavlankar shooting competitions, representing your state association, to go on to participate in the NSCC.

If the Mavlankar is scheduled between Sept 20-30, then about 6 weeks prior to this, say by Oct 1st week, scores will be taken at the KSRA. Once shooters show possible good scores, a tentative list will be identified, who will be made to shoot the full match; scores gathered again; The 3 weeks of Sept will probably be used up for the 'training' camps. It should mostly be the traditional week prior, (Sept 13-18) when daily training is conducted, and the team departs probably on the 18th.
Similarly, those qualified in Mavlankar plus the previously qualified shooters get to have a week's continuous training prior to the NSCC. We hope to make this 1 week stretch to a few weeks atleast. Hope it happens. There is also a possibility that the training camp for both the NSCC as well as the National Games is conducted together, since the dates are so close. Than again, we all know how well the NG keeps getting postponed

your state rifle association actually conducts a training camp for Mavlankar. i am totally shocked !!

out here in rajasthan, they will probably shut the range down, before Mavlankar. so that no one can practice.

Well, since a good number of people try for the Mavlankar every year, the shooters are also required to perform all tricks to get an OK for keeping the range open on the weekdays to avail practice.
There are always several ways to look at it. I know of some shooters who are given about 2-3 weeks' or practice too. So no one the better!

Okay just got talking to Delhi State secy / treasurer Mr. Saigal who said that I still had nothing to get excited about. No GVM for me unless there is another Delhi State in which I qualify. So its back to bbguns and tin can shooting for me

Yes but start a new thread. Merely pulling the trigger is not going to make you a better shot.

Before we start shooting for scores we will learn or relearn the basics.
