Hello Fellow members,
My name is Amir Zubair and I am from Patna, Bihar. I have been interested in trap shooting and hence had applied for shotgun license back in 2017. The file was completed but the license wasn’t granted, neither was it refused. After the demise of my father, his rifle has been granted to me on the same file. Therefore currently I do not have a shotgun license and seeing the state of affairs in Bihar getting an additional weapon endorsed is a Herculean task but I’m upto it.
My current license is valid for the state and I’m governed by rule 19(2)(d) of the arms rule 2016, hence I would be applying for area extension very soon and pray that it is granted.
Second handicap is that I’m a lefty so a quite lesser number of specialised weapon is available at range/dealers.
I want to pursue trap shooting but there isn’t any training place at here in Bihar. This is inspite of the fact that one of the top most trap shooter of India hails from Bihar.
I had to enrol here at a range for grant of training certificate but that range has maximum 50m rifle capacity.
What are my options so that I could at least try and fulfill a long lost desire?
Any help/guidance would help.

Mr Zubair, first sellect a good place practically possible for you to practice trap in your state. Many top shooters are only trying to sell their weapons at a extraordinary price. So if you dont find any place in Bihar, go to Delhi and start practising at Karni singh shooting range. It is the only best option.

Thanks for your reply.
Not having a trap/skeet range in the state is a huge handicap.
I’m contemplating going to Karni Singh for practice/learning the game.
Could you please share the charges they take for practising?
