Hi Kamleshwar,
I just got an arms license from D.Dun. Had applied last year. Dont remember the NSC part. Quite possible I may have done it and dont remember with the whole process being multiple stages. Have to now go there to buy a weapon, apparently has to be purchased within three months of the license being issued.
Am in the US (PHX) and am planning to bring a handgun with me from here under TR next year. I have a Sig Sauer p229R in 357 sig, Springfield XDm .40 and a Smithie TRR8 357 magnum. Will probably bring the Sig if I can. Do you have any information on how one gets about obtaining an import permit

from India? If the US paperwork takes about a year, then I should work on the import permit soon. I will be visiting Delhi, D.Dun next week.
American Airlines and British Airways will let you transport ammo from here in checked in baggage without any such regulations/charges as mentioned by you, atleast that is what they told me last week when I spoke to both. Perhaps you may want to call them yourself too.
