Dear members,
While bringing one N.P. br. pistol/revolver on T.R to India from abroad, is it possible to bring one .177 air-rifle aswell or only one of them can be brought at a time? What is the legality in this respect. Any ideas please ?

tingriman,
there should not be any problem as you will be well within your rights do both. In fact, you could even get a .22 caliber air rifle, along with a handgun on TR and later probably order a .177 air rifle through the mail( since you would have by then checked out all the models)
. The reason is the .177 rifles are the only caliber that you can order through the mail.

Thank you Anand for the prompt reply.
Dear members, I dont have any rifle club membership, but have a vaild arm license. Is import of Scope and pellets a problem? some of the members have suggested bringing the scope attached to the air-rifle, while other suggest to bring it seperately in a checked baggage, what is best in your opinion. Any feed back is highly appreciated.

tingriman,
Please go through the posts on import of air rifles and firearms. Rifle club membership may make it easier for the importer if the Customs people ask for it. There is however no law that says that it is a requirement. Scope detached from the rifle and packed separately is probably the best method of import.
