Reminton kit/ barrels

One of my friend is buying Reminton pump action 12 bore , he is getting a gun with two barrel i.e 20 inche and 30 inche with ventilated ribs , is it legal to buy such kit , feedback is requested. James....

It is perfectly legal if both the barrels are endorsed on the License of the seller. Also it will be considered as a single fire arm AFAIK. A few shooters have imported barrels of different calibers as well that sit on the same basic frame and is endorsed as one fire arm on the License. eg Mauser Mod.66, Valmet, Thomson Contender etc.

In the above stated scenario it is much simpler ,the gun is 12 bore and both the barrel are of same caliber . James...

im pretty sure this gun with extra barrel would command a huge premium in india :roll:

It is Legal, 2 years back we sold our Army & Navy 12 bore shotgun with extra barrell ( 28'' & 32").Both the barrells were endorsed on the Lic.

Make sure that babu does not misinterpret it and endorse it as double barrells :lol: :roll:

a little OT but i recently heard from someone that under the arms act import of 12 gauge barrels is allowed. any concrete facts on the subject would be appreciated

As Marksman and others have pointed out, it is both legal and quite normal to have a gun with more than one barrel endorsed on your license. The additional barrels will have their serial number as well as calibre individually entered on the license, but the whole kit is considered as 1 gun (as it logically should be).
