Suggestions and Guidance Needed

My dad passed away 3 years back. Due to some reasons, we only submitted the riffle when police came to our house to collect it a year back. Now, according to the police, we cannot apply for transfer of licence to legal heir since it's too late. Their suggestion was to surrender the weapon for now. While this process is underway, quickly get the CRTC completion certificate and get the licence transferred. Now, my dad has 2 daughters, me and my elder sister. My sister would like to be the main licence holder and get an additional licence that can be procured for close relatives for me. This is because she wants the option of adding an additional licence for her husband so he can buy a new weapon somewhere in the future. I just want my dad's gun under my name. I would like to get suggestions or guidance from this group.

There is no such time limit specified in Arms Act 1959 or Arms rules 2016. So you can apply for license under heirloom rule any time.

‘Additional license’ is issued when two people reside at same address. Since your sister is married, I guess you both are not living at same place so you don’t qualify for additional license.
