Hello Fellow Legalities and Arms Enthusiasts!
One of my relatives is preparing to apply for an arms license and he lives in the state of Bihar (Capital city-Patna).
He wants to purchase a Glock which is going to be offered by CMT (Counter-Measure Technologies Tamil Nadu) through it's licenses distributors/armories. So he wanted to know whether the arms license issued to him here in Bihar can be used to purchase a gun (A Glock Pistol Of The Caliber Allotted To Civilians) in some other state, say Tamil Nadu?
Please suggest some solutions to this question as he is very passionate about guns and other arms and really wants to get a glock as his first official gun!

Congratulations to your relative on being offered a Glock pistol by CMT. Which model and calibre is it? Many of us are eagerly waiting for the launch of Glock pistols for sale to private licence holders in India. We would be glad if you could please tell us which models and calibres of Glocks are being introduced, when and also what are the prices likely to be.
Yes. He can purchase a weapon in a State not included in his licence.
He will have to obtain a "no objection certificate" from the licencing authority in Patna once the arms licence is issued. The procedure is given in Chapter VII of the Arms Rules 2016 under the heading TRANSPORT OF ARMS AND AMMUNITION.
I have posted a link for downloading The Arms Act, 1959 with The Arms Rules 2016 in another thread which you can find using the search option given at the top of this page.
All the best.
