Hi , i ordered few karambit knives in ali express.
I got showcause notice from customs of forign postoffice mumbai, i replied by saying its for short film entertainment purpose. They sent speed post saying that i need to visit there , i ignored it now they sent another speed post by imposing penalty of 5000rs.
Actually after getting show cause notice i raised a dispute in aliexpress and got full refund.
No do i need to pay the penality imposed by customs or i can ignore it?
I dont need that knives as i got complete refund.

I would not ignore it because the next communication could well be a legal notice.

At best you will get away by paying the penalty because they probably think you have imported them for commercial purposes. However, given the type of knife, if they think they were imported for some nefarious purpose you will have to convince them otherwise.

And the address menctioned is my previous company address that i was working, but currently im not working there so they will return any notice they got by sayung this person is currently not working here.
Is it required to pay that now.

You expect the forum members to tell you how to dodge a customs notice?
