Is Open Carry allowed in India ?

I was wondering if Open Carrying of self defense handguns is allowed in India ? I can understand why someone wouldn't want to do that, not everyone wants to flaunt what they have. But, if one were to carry a handgun on their belt or another way, in plain view of everyone, what will happen. Apart from the strange looks, will some smart alec cop try to arrest you or maybe mistake you for some hot shot LEO.

In the US, I know some states allow open carry and some states are mum on the subject. I've heard cases where some states although had open carry allowed, would stop people from carrying openly as it would potentially cause public nuisance sometimes called "going armed to the terror of the public". I wonder how much this is clarified in Indian law.

Here's the wiki for some good reading. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Open_Carry

You can carry them openly except few ristricted zones.
