Bringing in scope mounts from abroad

Fellow members, I could not find any definite answer to this so far, so thought of checking with you all. As far as I know, scopes are restricted items and so bringing them from abroad is ruled out. But what about mounts, can I safely bring them in baggage? My friend is coming to India and I thought to seek his assistance for getting a good mount for me.

Bringing scope mounts is not an issue at all. In fact my mother goes to Europe every year and gets two scopes for me on every visit. There has not been any problem with customs till now.
