A query regarding the The Arms Act , 1962

Post by FN-Five-Seven » Sat Sep 07, 2013 10:49 pm

While going through the The Arms Act , 1962 , a particular thing caught my eye . Since I was unable to get an answer , I am posting a query here .

I am quoting a portion of the Chapter III , Section 13 (2)[ Grant of Licenses ]
On receipt of an application , the licencing authority shall call for the report of the officer in charge of the nearest police station on that application , and such officer shall send his report within the prescribed time .
Now , my query is , what is the prescribed time given to the police officer to send his report on the applicant to the Licensing Authority .

Also , is there any time limit within which the Licensing Authority has to inform the applicant whether his License was granted or Refused ?

And finally , on what matters does the police officer given his report to the Licensing Authority , regarding the applicant ?

60days
time limit within which the Licensing Authority has to inform the applicant whether his License was granted or Refused ?
i've got no idea on that, may be our friends will help us understand on this.
what matters does the police officer given his report to the Licensing Authority , regarding the applicant ?
Criminal cases, activities registered on the applicant from the concerned police station limits and sometime no case registered but any thing suspicious will get a negative report.
