Medical Certificate

Post by karnan » Thu Aug 29, 2013 11:48 am

Greetings from Chennai

From 2010, for renewal of license, a medical certificate is required. Last month when I submitted my renewal papers along with a medical certificate, I was advised by the license section, that I should ask the Doctor to mention that I am fit to hold a weapon license. Few or no Doctors would take the responsibility of making such an observation. As years pass, the authorities are going to make it more and more difficult for licensed weapon holders with petty and cumbersome procedures ! Don't weapon manufactures have a lobby in India ? NAGRI should rope them in too .

HI Karnan,

I heard that the licensing authority is requesting for medical certificate for fitness during license renewal. However, not sure about the grounds it is being made mandatory (age, location etc).

NAGRI is for gun enthusiasts and not weapon manufacture, though it is open for all individual Indian citizens. And may be having a lobby group will we great.
