I am interested to buy a one edged sword ( Shamshir type ) . I am from West Bengal .
Please let me know -
1 . Do I need any licence to keep such a sword ?
2 . If yes , how any where to apply for such a licence ?
3 . Which things or documents are needed for such a licence ?

under the arms act, anything over 9inch and 2 inch wide needs arms license, unless exemption is made under section 4 of the arms act. you would need to check with your local LA for this.

It is not a question of exemption but a question of notification issued under Section 4 of Arms Act 1959.
