If i Have an Handgun in self defense ground and I wish to carry rifle in sport quota then what to do ?

will again fill up form to obtain permission and suffer more ?

Seniors please give your opinion if you have experience like this.

yes you have to apply for additional weapon and suffer more.

Believe you me, the day you decide to apply for a license to applying for the additional or even renewals, "suffer" comes free

but what is the procedure

The "procedure" may vary slightly from state to state. In many states the entire procedure for getting fresh arms license is followed for second and third license. It was said that in some states additional weapon is simply endorsed on the same booklet. But I doubt this is happening nowadays.

If you are applying on grounds of "sport", in order to make the things simpler, then do ensure that you are a member of some government recognized rifle club.

karamveer , if you are a member of a rifle club approved by nrai and you are applying for a .22 rifle for sports my opinion is that you can get license without much struggle.
section 13 (3) of arms act says

The licensing authority shall grant-- (a) a licence under section 3 where the licence is required- - (i) by a citizen of India in respect of a smooth bore gun having a barrel of not less than twenty inches in length to be used for protection or sport or in respect of a muzzle loading gun to be used for bona fide crop protection: Provided that where having regard to the circumstances of any case, the licensing authority is satisfied that a muzzle loading gun will not be sufficient for crop protection, the licensing authority may grant a licence in respect of any other smooth bore gun as aforesaid for such protection, or
(ii) in respect of a point 22 bore rifle or an air rifle to be used for target practice by a member of a rifle

club or rifle association licensed or recognised by the Central Government;

Sec 13 (3) ii says you can have a .22 for sports if you are a member of rifle club.

The addition of second weapon as gbm says it vary from state to state and even district have different norms.If you want to give a new application as authorities
said so apply for a .22 . I don't think you will have to suffer more than for your first license.Now you will know the whole procedure well so second application will also take some time but am sure you will get the license.

Few days ago I visited ADM office to get permission to endorse an additional self protection weapon .32 bore pistol in my existing licence of a double barrel .12 smooth bore gun. I am based in Himachal Pradesh. I was told to submit a fresh non criminal police report, an arms training certificate, Application to ADM on a prescribed performa with details of existing licence and weapon. Give proper proof of threat to your life or details of any instance of such attempt on you. Also they convinced me to be prepared for a lot of patience and also make my mind for total refusal.
A friend of mine lives in a different tehsil in Himachal which is just 40 kms away from my location.He told me that there the procedure is very simple. Just write an application to ADM on a simple paper and attach copy of existing licence and that's all.
