If you have a pair of guns, each gets it's own unique ammo quota right? Or is there some stupid rule which stipulates that ammo must be shared between guns of the same caliber?

Eg - If you have a pair of 1911's, they get a quota each, yes?

Yes, separate quota for each gun.
