I'm not really I understand the question. But yes, it will happen if you discharge your weapons unlawfully. A weapon should only be discharged at the range or for protection. There really is no need to discharge it otherwise.

"Without reason" - the only reason one would do that if there is accidental discharge.
"Irresponsible reason"- firing in air to show off -on weddings, etc, without adequate thought on ricochet, back drop of target etc - surely a reason to get the into trouble. How much is enforceable is anybody's guess.

In self protection circumstances one retains the right to use according to their judgement- if they are prepared to deal with the trouble that follows.

The Arms Act and Rules have no provisio to provide for a record of expended ammo by a licensee. If someone tells you this, ask him to substantiate it.

Don't fall for such hearsay. If it's a policeman telling you this, ask him to show you the order, clearly showing who and under what authority has ordered such a move. The Collector or Commissioner can't pass such an order because there is no provisio.

Any such order will therefore be extra judicial.

Why do you want to know what a licensee does with his ammo quota? His gun, his ammo; as long as he remains within the ambit of the law, whats anyone's problem?

What exactly is your query? Can you be specific?

Can you explain why? I don't see why you would be so desperate to 'look' for a reason to account for missing cartridges, especially when you don't even have a license!

I honestly don't understand why you would need to discharge your weapon if its not for target practice or defense! (hunting is illegal!)

To answer your original question. Yes. If you discharge your weapon unlawfully then your license CAN and SHOULD be canceled. (The only two legal scenarios in the Indian context are Target Practice and defense)

Does not matter if you have an unlimited quota. Just because you have the ammunition / gun does not mean that you have you use it. You might have a first aid kit in the car, would you go out and look for excuses to use it before it expires?
karmveer wrote:Please specify clearly about self defence grounds applicants ammo quota 50-100,250-500 what they do with ammo ?
a) Use it from Practice b) Use it for defense

You can donate it to your IFG brethren.

Sadly, I'm not a gun owner. If I were one, then I would do exactly what I've told you to do.
