Dear Fellow IFG-ians from Bangalore,

I have completed all the formalities for applying for a Firearms License in Bangalore; including the successfully completing the Civilian Rifle Training program.

All I need is a Health Certificate from a Govt Doctor/Govt Hospital stating that I am physically fit to hold a firearm and I can submit my application.

The problem is my knowledge of Bangalore is fairly limited and I certainly do not know, which Govt Hospital would be able to issue such a certificate; and also who in the Hospital should be contacted for this purpose.

Request fellow forum members to guide me by passing along details of the correct Hospital and the correct person to reach out to in order to make this cumbersome task slightly easier. Also any personal references to a Govt. Doctor would be highly appreciated.

Thanks

Try Bowring hospital or Victoria hospital, i got mine from Bowring hospital as it was closer to the COP.
Just walk into the hospital and ask any attender / doc for a medical certificate he will guide you to the doc who does all the certification.
I would advise a day visit.
/S

Thanks Sniper...Will definitely try out Bowring....I guess if it is closer to COP then this would be a fairly routine procedure for them....Just a clarification -- By "day visit" do you mean a Morning visit or afternoon post-lunch session would be more appropriate-- also can this be done on a saturday ???

Thanks Sniper.....Did as you had suggested ..went to Bowring Hospital this Saturday and got the Physical Fitness Certificate from there....took me about an hour but finally it is accomplished.

Sniper, just wanted to understand from you (since you have already have a license); I have the following set of documents ready for applying for Firearms License.. Do let me know whether they would be enough -
1. Proof of Identity (Passport/PAN Card)
2. Proof of Address(Rental Agreement)
3. Weapons Training Certificate
4. Physical Fitness Certificate from Govt Hospital
5.4 Passport size photographs
Are they any other documents which the the Police may ask or do ask for ?? When I had initially gone for applying for the firearms license these were the documents they had suggested. Your advice is highly appreciated .
If all is in order then I am planning to fill up the form and apply for a 0.22 IOF revolver and submit the form within the next week itself; for the process to be kicked-off.
