Regarding .380 & .45 bore pistol
Dear Everyone,
Please anybody can confirm that .380 and .45 pistol comes under NPB or PB Bore in Haryana. In case its under NPB bore please send me any court notification or arms notification as the DCP for issuing arms licence is saying that I should get her any notification where she can do .380 or .45 bore pistol on NPB licence.

.380 ACP and .38 ACP are NPB while .45 ACP is PB. The law is the same all over the entire Union of India, please refer to the relevant thread under the legal eagle section here for more details. The relevant portion of the law is Schedule I of the Arms Rules 1962, more specifically category I (c) - the calibres mentioned there are PB all other calibres are NPB.

Dear Abhijeet,
Thank you for your reply. I check 1962 arms act and I am not able to find .380 or .38 ACP in section 1 (C). In some states they are also entering .45 Bore ACP. Please confirm if Licensing authority is ready to enter .45 ACP Pistol on my arms licence am I legal to keep that.

.45 bore pb bore it is true some licenesing authorities r entering it under undue influence of political leaders it is very common in some districts of punjab. My honest advice is to do it even u have influence do not do it as if some enqiury is ordered in any stage one can face complications legal in nature so go according to law.U need handgun u can get NP NP guns r as good as PB bore rather these r more smooth. In sometimes back in facebook it was reported after attack on Gurdwara in USA one American Sikh who is also a renowned security expert got threat threats but he preferred 38 bore revolver instead of glock 9 MM reason he wrote that it is more smooth better for self defence.

If the licensing authorities enter a .45ACP as an NPB, then they are breaking the law.Ignorance of law is not a valid defence.Period! I would echo Dsingh's sentiments.
